چکیده
We investigated the relationship between microstructure and mechanical properties of Ti–6Al–4V alloy subjected to friction welding (FW). In this work, specimens with a diameter 15 mm length 50 were prepared, FW was performed at constant rotation speed (1600 rpm) different upset lengths (1 3 mm). The electron backscattered diffraction (EBSD) method used analyze grain boundary characteristic distributions (GBCDs) such as size, misorientation angle, phase for weld zone base material. found that microstructures in developed by combination continuous dynamic recrystallization transformation. addition, decrease led accelerated refinement, average sizes refined from material (5.75 µm) 1.45 µm 1.85 1 mm, respectively. Consequently, maximum microhardness value increased ?20% an relative material, yield tensile strengths welded materials maintained same levels those Therefore, based on properties, application could be obtained joints superior performance.

Article history: Received: 4.7.2014. Received in revised form: 2.9.2014. Accepted: 3.9.2014. Surface compensation friction stir welding (SCFSW) is successfully applied to weld 6005A-T6 aluminum alloy in order to eliminate disadvantages caused by flash and arc corrugation. The effects of rotational velocity on the microstructures and mechanical properties of SCFSW joints are investigated. The jo...

The pure elements Ti, Zr, Cr, Nb were selected to produce an TiCrZrNb alloy target and deposited thin films thereof by a reactive high vacuum DC sputtering process. Nitrogen was used as the reactive gas to deposit the nitride thin films. The effect of nitriding on the properties of the TiCrZrNbNx film was tested by changing the nitrogen ratio of the atmosphere. All of the as-deposited TiCrZrNbN...
